Reenactment

Today, the movement of Roman reenactment is experiencing a general upsurge, and we are announcing a new recruitment into our ranks, under the banner of the "Tenth Who Crushed in the Straits" fanned with glory and time. The Legion awaits you! Ahead of us are the roads leading to Rome!

Now our reconstructive research goes deep into the depths of this scientific comprehension of the ancient past. The main idea for us is to rebuild the classical cultural Roman heritage and to show the aestheticism of the Roman military culture, which formed the basis of the modern European military culture of the Romano-Germanic civilization.

Terminology

Reconstruction is an accurate restoration of a reliable archaeological find, using technologies and from materials used in a given chronological period of historical research for subsequent study (testing) and mandatory demonstration in museums and exhibition halls. Therefore, we call the reconstruction as close as possible to the studied authentic original.

Military-historical reenactment is an accurate stylized restoration of material culture. Today, we consciously massively use three single and indivisible sources. Ideally, they confirm each other or reasonably complement each other. Archeology dominates in our country, followed by written and pictorial sources, monumental and burial memorials of the studied period, the veracity of which we actually check in practice of the first component.

This is followed by stylization which is of two types, authentic (which most of the clubs in Russia have), and non-authentic, which does not use plastic, synthetics, cardboard, papier-mâché, and other modern materials (which is used in cinema, theater, circus for high-quality work in public), made very reliable and soundly. The question is where is the line between the stylization of these two types, this is a practical research work and reenactment testing of any element of the individual reconstruction of each. This is the support: equally on sources on archeology, monumental and documentary monuments on ancient science. It, the edge of quality authenticity, can shift in different directions depending on the analysis of sources, archaeological examinations and new finds, for a given period of study and can always be challenged in the world of graduate science, where the amount of invested funds is not, unfortunately, a guarantee of its quality.

Role-playing costume (based on antique motives), made using modern non-authentic materials (albeit fragmentarily) and made without reference to indirect sources, intended exclusively for non-professional performances and carnival-type fun, in the circle of a simple teenage audience or spectators who do not have serious historical knowledge.
