Celts had a unique garment element not commonly found in other ancient cultures such as Rome and Greece - the skirt. The skirt was likely a female garment, worn with a belt around the waist, and replaced the traditional peplos.
A notable discovery of a skirt has dimensions of 87 by 131 cm. Unlike the peplos, it was fully sewn together. The upper part of the skirt has cords for wearing it with a belt. The discovered skirt was made of woolen fabric.
